Yes, your wife deserves a pug (why wait?), but only if your cat is
friendly. Pugs do have a bit of cat in them: They are very visually
oriented (they even recognize cartoon dogs on TV), have independent
personalities (sometimes when you call they just sit there and stare),
are quite smart, and wash their faces by licking their paws and then
wiping eyes/nose. I only started out with 2, but they're both about
12 now, so we decided to get a second generation, and that's been a
boost of new life for the old ones.
