bricolage?  isn't that the term, a po-mo idea - one of the most
attractive ones -
about beginning with found materials and making something original --
something Levi-Strauss came up with in between making blue jeans...

also, this village is a little bit cognate with an Indian pueblo

(who would have been at their door, but they were out of doors)
