A Vineland Epiphany?

Just 2 things:
 
1. Robin - great post re. comedic aspects of Vineland.
 
2. Last night, I had a bit of a brainwave, or at least I think I had. Can it be that nobody has thought ofthis before? Surely not? Anyway this is certainly the first time I have thought of it, so it's an original thought for me at least: Wouldn't Vineland make a great kids' book? Just think of it, starting off with 'Zoyd' jumping through a window at the Cucumber Lounge, then eating the sugary shards, being chased by Hector, the in-flight raiding party, motorcycle chases, ghost stories (Thanatoids), Vato & Blood and the cars stuck up in trees, Japanese dinosaurs/monsters leaving giant footprints, cartoon vilians, hippies, roller-skating mall antics, etc. etc. Alls we'd need would be Pynchon to approve, maybe Crumb to illustrate. 
 
They call me an idiot, but I ask you - would an idiot come up with this?! You know, for the kids...
