This line about the parking lot and the shirt dropping reminds me of when in Samuel Delany's autobiography:  Motion of Light in Water, he talks about living in New York and going down to the truck stops where they had male orgies and blow jobs going on underneath the trucks in the parking lots - hence the loss of the shirt.
