I'm writing this from a Secure Shell client that uses pine. All plain
text - the URLs are clickable, though - but it doesn't matter as the
received HTML messages are displayed as text. The default config
option, I presume.

Browsing messages is *much* swifter than in an HTML application.
Writing messages is not as much fun.
