can only be circumvented by personal loyalties - as in Takeshi's chits
(and the large diversely-affiliated circle of friends Zoyd has); and
the artistic soul (which in this book is Zoyd's) can't really be drawn
in by politics or ideology because it is more involved with beauty and
love
