I recall his his face and outlandish garb on countless inner sleeves
from Columbia LPs of the 70's, along with Pierre Boulez and plenty of
Bernstein. He looks like he's from the next planet over from Sun Ra's
homebase and I'll bet he was just a freeway exit past Harry Partch.
I've also seen his stuff on some little jazz labels that were busy in
the 50's like Prestige.
