Weapon-mention as political statement?

For those who do not have a copy around, I give the context quote from V:
 
"'Yibble, yibble, yibble', he would go, squinting malevolent along the sights, 'got
you dead center, Abdul Sayid. Yibble, yibble, Muslim pig'. Da Conho's machine gun
was the only one in the world that went yibble yibble." (Picador UK 1975, pp. 22-3).
 
So now I ask you, Michael:  Do you really think that Vineland's mentioning of the Uzi 
is an anti-Muslim statement?
 
Personally I do not think so.
