so you, unlike Zoyd, have some days off (-;

Thanks for brilliant hosting, great references, and a strong kickoff.
I'm not ready to kick in till Monday. Well, maybe Sunday.

Questions about the first section that your hosting has inspired in me:
a) 1st sentence, "light pulsing in their wings" - is this clause just
about as grammatically anomalous and (I'd argue) as evocative as
"sunlight through a creeping fig" ?

b) Is it germane to think of Richard Brautigan, who died in 1984, and
whose poetry epitomized a similar experimentation, subjectivity, and
affection for nature? In the lamentable resurgence of the right here,
his mostly gentle meanderings lost market share in the USA, but
Wikipedia sez he's still popular in Europe.
I still like him.

c) many people I know subsisted on SSI throughout the '80s. There was
no requirement for public acts of craziness, although they did happen.
Perhaps that was a Brock Vond codicil for Zoyd alone?
It was hardly a generous stipend, in any case. None of the people on
it that I knew were scamming.

d) what is a Mini-Mac? (size reference for Cheryl the chain saw) -
sorry if you said & I missed it. I can't find it. anybody? Bueller?

e) Log Jam - what puts Zoyd off isn't the potential for grievous
bodily harm per se, is it? It's the gentrification and possibility of
being sued.

f) comparison/contrast of the Cucumber Lounge bungalows to the society
of Japan; introduction of Mob in the person of Ralph Wayvone, Jr. The
glancing reference to The Blindside Gazette, which, unlike Japanese
society and organized crime, never appears again; why does it
fascinate me so?
