inedibles too. It might be that I like lawn savants & Vato & Blood
more than some others, or maybe it's because of having been in a
number of the places described in Vineland and finding so much
accuracy and humor in TRP's descriptions of those places.
I'm sure that some material in Vineland will have big play in Inherent
Vice. Oddly enough this weekend I was in Capitola, barely north of
Aptos. Capitola appears to be surfer central, even at this late date.
In fact, the bed & breakfast we were staying at was directly across
the street from the home of Jack O'Neill:

The beach in Capitola was filled with surfers in wetsuits last night,
like some wet-suit mecca.
