Of course, there's the notion of "shooting the wave," which might be  
the appropriate context for Hector's remark, noting Zoyd's skills as a  
surfer going to seed as the dude ages and reflexes slow down. And then  
there's the sugar window set-up, Hector sending another message to  
Zoyd thanks to the dope cop's connections with the Mob/Hollywood.
