My love affair with Igor S.

I read Rites of Spring earlier this month, and thought it was terrific. I
really enjoyed the Proud Tower when I read it a few years ago, as I maybe
mentioned then on this list. The Proud Tower is about the pre-war Europe,
while the Rites of Spring is more about the effects of the war on European
culture.  The Tuchman book is more straight history, in a traditional vein;
Eksteins' book is more in the way of cultural history.
