Thanks for the link, Dave. If memory serves (and it usually doesn't), that's
pretty close to the ears-ringing head shaking I was doing ~35 years ago.
Especially a propos because my older son, the same age I was then, recently
finished *his* first pass of GR and is contemplating a second.

I've sent him Weisenburger to help with the chronology, Tarot, and
Grimm->Wagner that I missed a lot of back then. But something tells me a
piece like Duyfhuizen's "Starry-Eyed Semiotics"

would also help in a contrarian way. That the first, most brightly colored
"looky here" Konspiratorial Klue isn't, well, you know, actually *true*...
