Kahuna Arlines. Kahuna means "priestly", etc. [see wiki]. Any reason besides the pop culture allusions that TRP gives it this name? (I suggest there surely is, almost MUST be, given
our lifelong poetically associative pattern-maker, even in this looser-weave of a novel). 

line 7 -'non-sked': non scheduled. It also means, BAP  (bring a parachute),  because probably the only maintenance that gets done on the planes is a paint job every five years, says
a pro flight instructor pal of mine. 

line 8 - East Imperial [Nice double meanings?] Terminal [the usual double meaning]. 

"Charter flight... of a country he had not.. heard of" ??? WTF?
