I did see that a bunch of really economically priced Hanjo
Berressem books disappeared from Abebooks after he was
mentioned on the list a few months back...

animadverting on "Be Kind Rewind" - GQ apparently is
thumbs up on this - big article on Gondry last month, favorable mention
this month (it's in the "what they should be watching" column, I think)

But both our local papers, the Star and the (free weekly) Pitch are
panning it...

Pitch usually digs deeper in their reviews (having only one paper
to issue per week), they are saying there
was some kind of indy film with the same idea done better earlier...
Son of Rambow? never heard of it...apparently a summer idyll involving
a young Plymouth Brethren congregant
(a sect I keep trying to think of as on-topic
because it brings to mind Aleister Crowley
and falls in the same category of small sects
as the heresy of William Slothrop...er, Pynchon)
