Someone on the list (Monte?) mentioned this terrific film in relation to 
AtD. I have just watched it for the first time (the 5 hour TV version). Wow! 
The bishop dwelling on the expansion of the universe, Jacoby's puppetry 
house and the bilocated children are especially Pynchonesque.
