(NP) The Wire

Just watched the 1st season of "The Wire" --
well worth the time.  Starting the 2nd tomorrow.

Theme by Tom Waits, and performed by the Blind Boys of
Alabama during the 1st season --- I read the 2nd season
has the same theme performed by Tom Waits.  That song
keeps running through my head now:
"Way down in the hole..."

I especially liked where McNulty & Moreland worked the
crime scene with just one ostinato word of dialogue...
so many other good bits too...

I found myself identifying strongly with Omar, for some reason.
and Bubbles, of course

Clockers was good a few years ago, too...and so was the book...
