The banana reference is exciting too, given the knowlege I was gathering
about impolex, its fragrance, the actual isoamyl nitrate fake banana
fragrance, it's being a banana yet not being a banana, and I think OBA's
big book overall arc is the 20th century eventual landslide of human
behavior into war, like bees swarming to an intruder. bees emit isoamyl
nitrate, which is an odor that causes hormonal fight reactions in bees you
know.. and war chemical industry wasn't opposed to making fruity smells
part of the war gases industry.. OBA uses the contrast between the benign
real and earthly goodness with the fake man made chemical or railroad or
electric lamp kind all the time to support this arc.

So great was I confused I was up till 2 researching this angle. I'm on the
edge of understanding a lot right now.

which she might hear. Like sounds from earth structures still.
