In or Out of My Head

Ahhhhhhhhh Yup, them halcyon daze of yore.

Back then, was working at a high-brow classical music store that catered
to U.C. Berkeley faculty and early musicke performers and fans.
Sandy Pearlman came by during one of the local Early Music
Festivals that Joseph Spencer co-produced. Sandy is a rabid
enthusiast of Elizabethian dumps and pavanes and very easy to talk to.
He'd give the real lowdown, 72 consecutive hours worth of monitoring,
on a given microphone and the man would pass over valuable critical
evaluation under real world conditions. Big fan of the Beyer 740:

He'd also talk about Elie Wiesel, the holocaust and other uncomfortable
subjects. Good dude, glad I got to meet him.

Or course, spend your days listening to Roger Norrington & Jordi Savall,
Monteverdi & the Couperins and the sounds in and out of your head would
be different too. Try that with your kaffee mit schlag and a bag 'o' pork rinds.

Now, back to the menacing, mincing steps of K. 488, as performed,
in an original. transcription, by Kazoo virtuoso Boyd Beaver with the
HBOrchestra as conducted by Gary Wayne Coleman.

"I guess they can't revoke us all for trying---
Get into the car, light up and look all around."
[ascending scale:
boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,]

The only thing worse than commercial jingles are the themes from children's
shows. If you've lived in a household with a small person who watches
cartoons every morning before school, you'll know what I mean.

Me:
Can't tell you how many times I've walked up Channing in
Berkeley,Schubert's Great C Major either in or out of my head.

[Parenthetical note, also can't tell you how many times I've
strolled up and down Channing just plain old "out of my mind",
but I'm sure it's in the realm of imaginary numbers.]

malignd:
Lucky you. I once had "it's not a cola. It's much much
more. It's not a root beer. There are root beers by the
score." stuck in my head for most of a week.
