Nope, though I should have guessed. The first sense that folks will
make of Geli Tripping is "Gaily Tripping", Then there's the
Angel/Whore. And this is quite interesting. Someone who is aware
of what "The Sixties" were really all about remembers the sudden
expansion of awareness of Astrology, Tarot and other magical
ingredients. The "Hippie" movement in America really was the
first bloom of the Neo-Pagan movement. There was that bit of
being commited to one's "Old Man/Old Lady", but not so
commited as to pass by certain opportunities. Certainly, Geli's
mode of communication with Angels can be seen as lustful
while the results of her magical action can be seen as coming
from a very moral place. It's an "All You Need Is Love " moment.
So, in addition to "Gaily Tripping" and "Lusty Tripping" there's
"Angel Tripping". As her name is not "Geil Tripping", "Angel
Tripping" trumps "Lusty Tripping" but does not exclude it. This
name goes off in at least three directions at once. Kai's reading
goes where an awareness of German punning would lead and
I'm sure OBA was aware of that third meaning. I wasn't till now,
so thanks Kai!

Did you realize that the name Geli can be read as an anagram of the German
adjective "geil"?
"GEIL: wanton, lustful; voluptous, lascivious; [üppig] luxuriant, rank, exuberant;
[Tier] hot, ruttish; [zotig] smutty; (Amer.) racy; [~es Fleisch] proud flesh" --
So the full name of this German witch can be read as "lustful tripping". You could
also say "free 'n' easy". But then again Frenesi is a traitress which Geli is not.
