Michael Bailey is giving us more explication and leads than we can handle, I say.
And I am thinking this section is VERY KEY in AtD---(aren't they all?)----and
does, as MB also says, have TRP revisit many themes and tropes from his earlier
works, maybe..maybe....
And I don't think I jhalf-understand it yet.....

C'mon post......quibble, quibble....don't be afraid to be wrong, you will also be right, probably.....
Google (almost) every word.....post it and I bet we all learn something....

maybe as many who posted on the nostalgia of the flame wars will come out of lurking to 'light a fire' again?....

Cyprian would have to be at least capable of looking under 21 for
that threat to hold credence.  Still wondering if he graduated Cambridge.

probably a choice calculated to induce Grisha to give info
on Misha, the Colonel, the spy network...


705 - the flashback catches up with the beginning of the
chapter: line 10 "In Trieste..."

(yet he is soon enough to move again: like
Slothrop in GR, "no one here to love or comprehend me,
they just look for someplace else to send me")
