Watched Golden Compass tonight.  I like it a whole lot more than the Hairy
Pothead series.  Greek chorus (Sam Elliott, reprising Big Lebowksi role)
from omnipotent airship...  Anyone seen anything like that in a book since
then?  No chance that OBA introduced that book to his son, as "the one"
introduced it to my daughter, is there?  (sigh)  I can still picture the
