This is a movie about finding Shangri-la.

I have been watching this DVD, for the last couple three days after work.
I'm rivited by the Hollywood-rendered Shangri-la. Like how one might be
rivited by someone with tourette's having an episode in front of nuns. You
can't take your eyes off it but..

What's riviting is a "too good to be true" utopia-how do you really project
a utopian world--once you try to project it, it ringings false, but it's
always a good try... but the behavior of the Westerners among the
Easterners, ugh...
Then, I imagine the zeitgeist of 1937 time period audience reactions to the
utopian message, the strange monologue of the eerie backlit (Sam Jaffe)
Lama -- a 200 year old Belgian missionary..

It's like a Strange long Star Trek episode -- it's a true classic!
