TRP unfilmable?

I'm not so sure Nicholas Roeg is quite what he used to be, as an artist, but I'd love to see his "Crying of Lot 49." The late Robert Altman would have had a field day with "Vineland", and it's not too late for Matt Groening to try it on for size.
