OBAMA’s RESPONSE SO FAR
He will be holding a press conference tomorrow after a meeting with his economic transition team. He is expected to name Larry Summers his Treasury Secretary, he of rejection at Harvard and Clinton’s former Treasury Secretary. (he was Rubin’s #2) Doug Ireland passed around the members of his team.
Here (thanks to The Politico) is the list of Obama’s transition economic advisory team. You will note that it is composed entirely of current or former government officials and bureaucrats and corporate types. There is not a sinigle representative of the labor movement, not a single labor economist, not a single representative of progressive or economic watchdog groups, not a single representative of consumers…..guess what kind of economic policies and appointments we’ll get out of this crowd!
