More Nechaev...we learn that N.'s father betrays him for money...(showing
the truth of D.'s/ Russia's/ Coetzee's (?) insights into the nature of generational [revolutionary] conflict....why N. would want to go beyond
father-son.
D. asks to see her breasts...
But, culmination of this chapter: the writer will be used by the movement
NO MATTER what he writes/says.....even if he says nothing!
Coetzee puts his own judgment of his--any writer's---predicament into this chapter.
