I remember PKD being described as "A Poor Man's Pynchon," and the 
Dick's obsession with gnosis/annihilation is their greatest shared trait. 
I love those "glowing box" links you passed along, Dave. Very much in 
the apocalyptic mode of TRP and PKD, the idea that enlightenment is 
much like taking the film out of the camera and exposing it to the sun.
