It seems I just have to get that CD - thank your SO for me, Rich!
The one sent by me is from the Van Dyke Parks album "Discover
America" (1972) - a truly great collection of calypsos. It contains
the songs malignd mentions too. I only have it in vinyl. Purchased
a copy in London in, ouch, 1979...
"Clang Of The Yankee Reaper" (1976) is almost as good a take on
Caribbean - except for the splendid title song - music, but more
aseptic.
Van Dyke, of course, arranged Ry's first album.
