Wasn't it Karl Rove who described Thompson as "not too bright, but we can
use him"?
Sort of a neo-con mantra.
Once again, which party rails against the liberalism and hedonism of
Hollywood and then puts B or C-grade Hollywood actors in public positions of
power or elected office? Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono, and that guy from the
frickin' Love Boat. Leo Strauss and Benito Mussolini and sharing a bottle of
Campari and laughing their asses off along with their damned-for-eternity
courtesans.
