cool project.  nice choice of topic.

Just as a reference point for the nadir of advice, hoping to stimulate
others more knowledgeable to chime in,  I'm moved to say without portfolio
(I'm a high school grad, that's it) --

a) If it were me, I'd want to cultivate one or more individuals with
academic cred, preferably attractive ones of your preferred gender, to give
you ongoing feedback

b) Isn't your adviser supposed to do some of that?

c) I would think any assistance would need to be limited to helping you
clarify your thought process, and your own comfort level should guide you in
setting that limit.  Also, the aide-du-jour will voluntarily be inclined not
to go beyond that point, because it would not be in her or his interest so
to do.

hope it turns out great.  I'm sure it will.
