the line between Alchemy & "Big Science". As for Vineland, it seems
to me that it's not so concerned with scientific issues as with the role
and placement of propaganda in the USA in the presence of the "Tube."
As for "V.", I can't say---though the role of the simulacrum looms large
in that novel.
