Another way to categorize TRPs oeuvre

Even The Crying of Lot 49 has its "non-American interludes", 
quite critically in "The Courier's Tragedy" and the little histories 
of Thurn & Taxis, the Beaconsfield Cigarette filters, 
"Cashiered", Oedipa & Pierce down in Mexico. . . .

Just an aside, but one of the features from "The Courier's 
Tragedy" that stuck out for me was how Domenico's public 
execution appears to be an echo of Giordano Bruno's 
infamous burning at the stake. My sense was that John 
Dee was somewhere in the background of of CoL49, but 
now I see that Bruno was probably the reference in the 
background. Enochian Magick, tied in with Ceremonial 
Magick, was a shared practice of Dee & Bruno. I'm very 
curious what Tore Rye Andersen would have to say 
concerning this.
