I take your point about the sexual underpinnings of political
charisma.  Unlike Robin, I relate Palin not to anyone in Vineland,
though DL has that tough nature.
However, Gory Gnahb in GR seems to share at least the seafaring
component of Palin's character, Palin having vaulted into if not
captaincy at least first-matehood of the Republican ship of fools.
