According to the Rosicrucians, Hermes Trismegistus was born October 9,
1399 and died March 22, 1257. He was called the "Thrice Great Man"
for the three great events in which he participated in the course of
his life in the brotherhood. He attended the crowning of Amenhotep IV
(Akhenaton), became the main dude of the brotherhood himself, and
crowned Akhenaton's nephew Pharoah. He also codified much of the
mystery teachings of the brotherhood and wrote them down for the first
time. Those documents resurfaced twice in history and are primary
teachings in alchemy. He is sometimes associated with the Egyptian
god, Thoth.
