Friedrich Kittler has written the foreword. The topic of the lectures
is "bridging the gap" between the "Humanities" and the "Scientific" -
we all know about "C. P. Snow's famous Rede lecture, 'The Two Cultures
and the Scientific Revolution,'" as mentioned by Pynchon here:
