On David Fischer

Rich wrote a beautiful p-list obituary of David Marc Fischer. I don't
have much to add. David [aka "davemarc"] was a knowledgeable and
warm-hearted pynchon-list member for 13 years.

In August 1997, I was happy to meet David in NYC on two occasions. For
over a decade, we would write to each other every now and then.

I was reminded of one such exchange when Chris shared an FB link which
shows how highly respected David was in the NYC Celiac Disease Meetup
Group. David once contemplated visiting Northern Europe, so he asked me
if gluten-free food is easily available in Finland, and if gluten-free
options are clearly indicated on Finnish restaurant menus. I answered
yes to both questions.

But he never managed to come up here. It's all so sad. R.I.P. David.
