Some minor questions, which might be fool-proof to English native speakers but screws me up in spite
of my googling and wikipedia-based research.

On Pg 6:

"...a velvet painting from one of the Mexican families who set up their weekend pitches along the
boulevards through the green flatland where people still rode horses, between Gordita and the freeway.
Out of the vans and into the calm early mornings would come sofa-width Crucifixions and Last Supers..."

I guess "weekend pitches" means "camping on weekends", right? If so, these Mexican families must
be some amateurish artists who sell velvet paintings in some temporary tents? But, what the hell
is "Out of the vans and into the calm early mornings would come ..."??? This sentence can't make
any sense to me, though I know TRP lists some paintings here.

A lot of thanks.
