p. 24 In which we learn Bigfoot collects bobwire,
bullett molds, sheriff's badges, more,
and 'all kinds of Western paraphernalia".

Barbwire, a nice Pynchonian item with lots of
resonances--steel, metal, wrought iron-- within
P's anti-industrial vision and stock of symbols.

that seems just like the right metaphor for a
pre-emptive fascist to 'collect", imho. Keep
'em away.

Anyone else see the symbolic emergence of that
real-life Pynchon bad guy, Ronnie R. in this
scene?....And, in his way, am image that
overarches the other most fascist Pres since
Reagan, Dubya? And was Nixon's western place
a 'ranch' too???
