Re. Raymond Chandler AND Ross MacDonald

Besides Lew in AtD, given one of the novel's most thematically-telling scenes, Heikki (and Robin, I believe) found those near-quote-sampling homages to MacDonald in Vineland. Them jay birds. 

Bet IV has its homages.
