On the plus side:
it was brief
it makes a compelling case for doing revisions
I learned some things while doing it
It's pretty much what I meant to write, which isn't always the case
_Inherent Vice_ arrives Tuesday!

on the delta side (things to think about changing)
while it's always clear to me what I'm saying, there are places where I can see
  how a reader might not (revision would help this)
I can see how a person not already favorably attuned to my particular
style might see this as       not really contributing to the discourse
(not sure how to change this...)
I bet I still didn't convince David Morris that _Vineland_ is a
masterpiece (will back off for a random interval and retry)
