Gordita Beach, real and imagined

Thanks Mark,

I've got some photos around here of the house that OBA was supposed to
have lived in in Manhattan Beach. It's small, two-story (garage on
bottom) on a hill up from the beach a few blocks, sand colored,
lots of close neighbors.

A "gordita" is a taco kind of thing with a fat tortilla. They're
very, very good with a filling of huevos y chorizo if you get a
chance. They have what they call "gorditas" in plastic bags in the
stores now - yuk. The name literally means "little chubby woman"
- "Gordo" is fat, "ita" is small and feminine. This makes me
think that perhaps with IV, "the fat lady is singing." (Just a
thought - Pynchon is so fun.)
