Philip Marlowe may not be kicking the gong around, may not be a viper,  
but he spends an inordinate amount of time three sheets to the wind.  
Bay City is Santa Monica and Gordita Beach is Manhattan Beach. In  
between is LAX and Venice Beach. I see the two boiled dicks [one hard,  
one soft] as close cousins. Both do their investigative work work with  
aplomb.
