Well I meant to extend the metaphor toward readers (biblical readers vs pynch-readers) rather than comparing the writer(s) or the texts, but that's pretty funny, especially with the recent discussion here about AtD being a patchwork of various writings. Perhaps that's the real reason that you chose not to utter OBA's True Name? ;-)
Abraham ibn Ezra, while working on a biblical commentary in the 12th century, recognized that Moses could not have been the sole author of the pentitudes. Back then, this was distressing news; you could killed for saying heritical stuff like that -- so Ibn Ezra wrote some cryptic wink/wink commentary along the lines of: “And if you understand, then you will recognize the truth. And he who understands will keep silent.”
