Yep, that one's been on the IV wiki for a while. One of the very most obvious instances of 'giving a character a name which indicates what they do' trope. He may as well have had a character called 'Clare Voyant'!
 
 
Sortilege is also a whiskey, a French heavy metal band, a tattoo parlour etc.
 
 
I thought it might be the name of a movie, when I first saw the name in IV. ANd i was nearly but not quite right. There's something called...
