re. Beatles/Stones

I hated, and raised my daughter to hate, the Beach Boys, but a woman that I
was nuts about suggested that I give Pet Sounds a chance. Daughter and I
both grew to love it.

As far as a rock, as opposed to rock'n'roll song fave goes, the Stones'
"Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" is a monster, way better than anything by
either band before or after.  

When I was coming up, I thought that Led Zeppelin was bombastic long-hair
white boy glam rock rippin' off the blues.  I was so much older then.
They've been one of my fave groups for the past 5 years.
