Or that first enormous chord of 'A Hard Day's Night'. Ah, Henry, I miss many things! BUt yeah, that feedbacky start of 'I Feel Fine' is sublime, and actually the beginning of the music for the IV promo video reminds me a little of it, by way of Sonic Youth.
There are, to mu knowledge, one or two little sublime moments in the Rolling Stones's catalogue - the opening of Gimme Shelter for instance - but the Beatles' records are brimming with them.
I'm still trying to like the Beach Boys, and failing. Every now and then I put on Pet Sounds and when I hear the start of Wouldn't It Be Nice I think, yeeeeessss this is grrrrreat, but as the album wears on I soon get tired of it. I know, I know...
