I'll say this next bit only once: whatever Robert 'Jbor' Jackson's abilities as a 'close reader' of Pynchon, I find him a uniquely unpleasant, almost phenomenally objectionable character, by far the worst personality I have encountered online, and will not engage in discussion with him about anything, ever. The more of him we see in the IV GR, the less I'll be able to enjoy it. It's been lovely round here since he got caught lying and twisting what others told him in confidence about the alleged 'Playboy interview' and making sneaky wikipedia edits etc. and slithered off in shame. I've been sickened to see him occasionally wafting back onto tis list, without acknowledging never mind apologising for his behaviour. That debacle aside, he comes across as smug and priggish and a bit of a cunt. But then no matter what I think, he has just as much right to be here as me, I guess.CheersJ
