I have read one of these. So cool. I could not connect with the insights into Mexico, but that was my lack. I did love the way it was told.
I bet you are right on the shared office
homage. (Hey, can you'all who've read more Hammett/Chandler/macDaonald confirm that they had cheap, shabby, but single offices, which they were hardly ever at?) That seems to be par for the PI genre.
Betcha TRP has read him in Spanish.
