Yes, plus there was surely a load in there about architecture, lot of
Italian stiff, lenses etc.

Yes, very true. My first read, I went through it fast, in big chunks.
Second read was, of necessity, mnore fragmented, meaning I lost some
things but gained an appreciation of, as you say, inddividual sections
in isolation. Kinda like Vineland. Open it up at random and you'll see
just how 'light' it really isn't.
