This is all a huge deja vu for me. My first p-list post was titled
'Vineland Underrated' and I got a *lot* more than I bargained for in
response. Terrance and jbor - along with a few others - seemed
determined to produce a 'reading' of Vineland which was the diametric
opposite of the one any reasonable reader would arrive at. Some of
these recent posts, insane though they may be, have given me a huge
frisson of bittersweet nostalgia. What a weird bunch Pynchon attracts.
On the other hand, there are loads of good people on this list, and
discussing Pynchon, even with heavy dollops of luncay, is still a
worthwhile way to pass an online hour or two. Long may we run.
